A school director is the adult who leads a school's delegation. Every school taking part has at least one. Without one, a school cannot bring students.

A member of staff at the school. It is usually a teacher, and often the one who runs the school's Model United Nations club. Any member of staff the school trusts with the responsibility can apply.
A student cannot be a school director, whatever their year group.
A school director does not debate and does not sit in a committee. The role is to bring the delegation, look after the students, and deal with the organisers on the school's behalf.
If more than one teacher wants to apply. Several per school is normal for a large delegation. Each teacher applies separately, from their own account. They then share the same delegation page and can all act on it.
Before you apply, know what you are taking on.
Deciding what your school asks for, in countries and committees.
Deciding which of your students takes which place.
Making sure every one of your students has an account and, if under 18, completed parental consent.
Settling your school's invoices, or getting them to the person at school who does.
Being reachable. The organisers contact the school through you.
If you are travelling, add supervising your own students at the conference to that list. Your school remains responsible for its own students throughout.
In MEDIMUN, a delegate whose parental consent is not complete is not allowed on the premises. Chasing that for your delegation is part of the role and it is the one that most often bites late. See Parental consent for your delegation.
Two things have to be true.
You need a MediBook account. It is free. See Creating your account.
Your school has to be on the list. If it has never taken part, ask for it to be added first. The form and every field on it are set out in Part 3 of Delegation applications.
Having your school added does not make you its school director. The two are separate decisions and both have to be made. Once the school is on the list, come back and send this application.
It is two questions.
1. Which school are you applying for? Choose it from the list.
2. Will you be at the conference in person? Either you are there with your students, or you are running the delegation from home.
Then click Send my application.

Sending this costs nothing. You are emailed once a decision has been made.
An adult who comes to the conference in person holds a place there. An adult who runs the delegation from home does not.
Answer it as things actually stand. You can change the answer later on your delegation page, while changes are still open. See Adults travelling with a delegation.
If two teachers apply and only one travels. That is fine. Each answers the question for themselves.
If you are unsure whether you are travelling. Answer no for now. Turning attendance on later books a place. Turning it off later releases one. Both are possible while changes are open, and answering no first avoids paying for a place you may not use.
The organisers read the application and decide. You are emailed either way. There is nothing further for you to do until then.
Once you are approved, your delegation page appears. That is where you say what your school needs, enter your students, mark which adults are coming, and pay. Go back to Delegation applications at Part 5 and carry on from there.
If you applied for the wrong school. Do not send a second application for the right one and hope the first is ignored. Write to the organisers and say what happened.
If you hear nothing back. Give it a few working days. If a week passes with no reply, write to the organisers. Check your junk folder first, because school mail systems often hold conference email there.
Schools change the teacher who runs Model United Nations, often between one year and the next.
The new teacher applies in their own account, for the same school. They do not use the previous teacher's account, and the previous teacher's login should not be shared with anyone.
Nothing about your school's history is lost when the teacher changes. The delegation belongs to the school, not to the person leading it.
