Joining us from outside Cyprus.
MEDIMUN welcomes schools from across the Mediterranean and beyond. Whether you're travelling from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, or further afield, this guide has everything your delegation needs to arrive, settle, and debate on equal footing with schools based in Cyprus.
Cyprus is a 3-hour flight from most of Europe.
Fly into Larnaca (LCA) for the quickest transfer to Nicosia. Paphos (PFO) is an alternative, about 90 minutes from the conference venue.
Taxis and private coaches are readily available from Larnaca. The drive to The English School takes roughly 45 minutes.
Cyprus is an EU member. Most European, North American, and GCC nationals do not require a visa for short stays. Check requirements for your passport.
Stay minutes from the debate floor.
We partner with hotels within walking distance of The English School in Nicosia. Rooms are negotiated at group rates for participating schools and released on a first-come, first-served basis once your delegation is confirmed.
Accompanying teachers typically stay in the same hotels as their students. MEDIMUN staff can help coordinate check-in, meal arrangements, and transport between the hotel and the conference venue.
Three days of debate, fully in English.
All lobbying, debate, resolution writing, and plenary sessions take place entirely in English.
Around 400 delegates from 60+ international schools. Aged 15–19, matched to committees by experience.
Three days in early February each year. The 22nd Session is scheduled for February 2027.
Only schools can apply directly.
Register your school as a delegation
Applications open in September each year. Schools are granted one or more countries to represent across General Assemblies, with additional seats available in Security Councils and Special Committees for more experienced delegates. MEDIMUN is non-profit; invoices cover delegate and school director fees only.
Start a school applicationJoin through your school
Individual delegates cannot register directly — speak to your teacher or MUN director about joining your school's delegation. If your school hasn't participated before, encourage them to apply. You must be aged 15–19 and enrolled at an international school.
