I acknowledge that MEDIMUN (Mediterranean Model United Nations) retains the student's personal data as follows.
Participation and account data — the student's account, contact details, committee assignment and the material they submitted — is retained for the duration of the student's involvement with the conference and for a period afterwards while they may return in a later session, and is then deleted or anonymised.
Records evidencing the confirmations given in this form, including this record itself, are retained for as long as necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. This retention is necessary because the record is the evidence that the student's participation was authorised, and it is expressly permitted by Article 17(3)(e) of the General Data Protection Regulation.
Certificate data is retained indefinitely where a certificate of participation or an award has been issued and remains capable of verification. A certificate is a statement made to the world that a named person took part in a named session, and it can only be verified for as long as the minimum data supporting it — the student's name, the session and the award — is retained. I acknowledge that if I request erasure of the student's data, that request will be honoured in respect of all other data, but the minimum dataset supporting any issued and unrevoked certificate will be retained so that the certificate remains verifiable, unless I also ask for the certificate itself to be revoked, in which case it will cease to be valid and the supporting data will be deleted.
I acknowledge that if the confirmations in this form are not completed, the student's newly created account and the data in it will be deleted, and that where the account was created during sign-up this will occur seven (7) days after it was created.
